A core value of Conscious Care Collective is reproductive justice for all bodies. We believe that everyone deserves care, regardless of their access to resources. The privilege-based sliding scale is one way of acknowledging disparities in wealth, income, costs, and privilege in this country, especially our region. The sliding scale is also a way to show up for your fellow parents and community members if you can and to be supported even if you can’t.

We offer an investment range for each package. The investment range for each package is shown in the table above. This allows you to determine what works best for you and your family.

Consider paying less if you:

  • are a person who experiences racism, either directly or via systemic oppression

  • are a person of color

  • are transgender and/or gay/queer and experience related discrimination and/or violence regularly

  • have medical expenses not covered by insurance

  • h‭ave been denied work‬‬ and/or are eligible for public assistance‬

  • have immigration-related expenses

  • are a sex worker who experiences occupational discrimination (personal or legislative)‬

  • are an unpaid community organizer‬ or are a returning citizen who has been denied work due to incarceration history‬

Consider paying more if you:

  • own the home you live in

  • have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money

  • travel recreationally

  • have access to family money and resources in times of need

  • work part time by choice

  • have a relatively high degree of earning power (whether you’re exercising it or not) due to level of education, gender privilege, racial privilege, class background, etc.

  • have a benefits package that is covering all or a portion of your care

This sliding scale model was adopted from ABM Tattoo and Heather Whitten Photography.
