Postpartum Care
We offer three in-home postpartum care packages. Each package is mother-focused and designed to honor the whole experience using time-tested postpartum care practices. This includes herbal care, nourishing foods, body care, ritual, and intentional relaxation. In addition to these, we also focus on lactation/feeding support, belly binding, baby wearing, mental health support, access to community resources, and other education and referrals as needed.
Each package can be modified to meet your unique needs and circumstances. Reach out for more information.
Learn more about our sliding scale model here. Clients who wish to use a benefits company (like Carrot or Maven) to pay for services must chose the top end of the investment range.

Each package includes tailored in-home support. Each session is typically 4 hours, giving us ample time to support you. The number of sessions depends on the package that you choose.

Nutrition and wholesome foods are key ingredients for healing. We offer meal planning (The Carolyn package) and in-home meal, beverage, and snack preparation (the Tela and Sylvia packages).
Meal planning includes helping you to set a weekly menu and grocery list that is grounded in optimal healing principles.
For in-home preparation, we’ll prepare and cook meals, beverages, and snacks during our visits that aid in postpartum recovery, week by week. Some of our favorite foods and drinks for early postpartum include sweet breakfast porridge, ginger chicken congee, leche cookies, stuffed dates, golden turmeric latte, and herbal chai.
During our postpartum planning session, we’ll work with you to put together a menu that sounds nourishing and meets your needs and preferences. All ingredients are provided by the client.

Examples of body care sessions include:
Floral foot soak [Haiti, China]
Herbal sitz bath [Germany]
Restorative yoga and/or yoga nidra exercises [India]

Herbs are powerful allies during the postpartum period. They can support physical recovery by promoting tissue healing and reducing inflammation, balance emotions, and connect us to ritual and earth (two things that are often overlooked but so nourishing to our body, mind, and soul).
Our postpartum herbal support offerings include things like:
Herbal teas and infusions for digestion, uterine healing, lactation support, nervous system support, and nutrient replenishment.
Tinctures (concentrated liquid extracts) for relaxation, balancing hormones, easing pain, boosting lactation, and restoring energy.
Salves and balms for perineal soreness and tears, sore nipples, cesarean incisions, skin irritations, and diaper rash or irritation.

Postpartum rituals and ceremonies honor the profound life transition into parenthood, promote physical healing, and foster emotional wellbeing.
The Sylvia package includes a customized ceremony to honor you on your parenthood journey. We will work together to design a ceremony that incorporates your heritage and feels supportive to you.
Examples of ceremonies include:
Traditional Mexican "Closing of the Bones" ceremony [Mexico]
Reiki [Japan]
Saining ritual [Scotland, Ireland]
